Agreement has been obtained from the [Vice] Chairman of Overview and Scrutiny Committee under Rule 4.2 of the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Procedure Rules to urgent implementation of the Portfolio Holder’s decision. The reason for urgency is that the Inter Authority Agreement with Buckinghamshire County Council, Chiltern District Council and Wycombe District Council needs to be in place from 1 October 2019 because Buckinghamshire County Council’s external legal services contract with HB Public Law expires on 30 September 2019 and this is before the call in period is due to end.

The PAG received a report which set out proposals for the Chiltern and South Bucks joint Legal Service to carry out legal work for Buckinghamshire County Council from 1 October 2019 to 31 March 2020 together with Wycombe District Council.

Having considered the advice of the PAG, the Portfolio Holder RESOLVED  that South Bucks District Council enter into an Inter Authority Agreement with Chiltern District Council and Wycombe District Council, for the provision of legal services to Buckinghamshire County Council, from 1 October 2019 to 31 March 2020.   The Head of Legal & Democratic Services be authorised to agree the final terms and conditions of the IAA.
